Hard Rock Gardens, operated by Mike Hansen, is located on the south facing slopes of Mauna Loa in Kealakekua on the Big Island of Hawaii. The orchard’s Criollo, Forastero, and Trinitario cacao trees thrive in the Island's volcanic soils and bright sunshine. With an elevation of 800 feet above sea level, conditions stay a little cooler and with less rainfall, helping the cacao to ripen and develop complex flavor profiles.
An alluring fragrance of coconut, cream, light baking spices, orange and cherry hints of what is to come on the palate. Creamy flavors follow with cereal milk, vanilla, cool whip, accented with citrus and caramel. A wonderfully balanced bar, this is a delight from start to finish!
